Crisper taste with a Yeti mug

I'm no lifted red Dodge never-seen-a-speck-of-dirt city slicker truck driving Yeti owner who believes Yeti is god in any form (/s for clarity), but I was gifted 3 Yeti's at Christmas and I have noticed that the aluminum lining of the Yeti mugs has completely changed the taste of coffee to be far crisper and cleaner. I have a busted up nose from hardcore punk shows back in the day so my sense of taste isn't the best, but coffee is tasting smoother than ever since I started drinking from a Yeti. Has there been an research, science, study, etc., on the effect of different container materials and the taste of coffee?
