If you haven’t cleaned your grinder in a while, consider this a sign

I neglected cleaning my grinder (Baratza Encore) for the ~2 years I've had it, just because it never really crossed my mind as something I should do (as far as I could tell, it was "working").

This morning I gave it a good cleaning because I've been noticing my brew time is longer than it used to be and suspected that might have something to do with my grinder.

The difference in my cup was astonishing – way brighter, more interesting flavors (and less unpleasant flavors), and brew time with my V60 dropped by like 30 seconds.

The process was easy – I'd even say enjoyable. It was cathartic to remove multiple grams of grinds – all shapes and sizes. I'll be doing it much more often from here out.

If you haven't cleaned your grinder in a while (or like me, never) – I highly recommend giving it a try. Make a cup before and after to see the difference – I'd love to hear what people think from their own experiences.
