minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

You guys are crazy

And it's awesome. Mad respect to everyone here that has delved so deep into this hobby and developed such an intricate appreciation for the bean water. But for real, yall are crazy.

I came here hoping to find a recommendation for a standard coffee maker to gift my overworked and underpaid husband. He's self employed. He underpays himself. He overworks himself. He loves coffee.

I don't drink coffee or make coffee or really know anything about coffee. I know his $10 coffee maker is dying and I wanted to get him something nice for christmas to replace it. So I came to the obvious place, a subreddit for coffee.

But yall are on a different level. So far I've seen $1000 coffee makers in comments that specify that you also need $500 grinders. And a scale. And a press. And a caliper? It's amazing the level of perfection some of you have achieved. Amazing and scary.

The $100 I was planning to spend doesn't seem like it would buy the filters. Oh yeah, and golden filters! You use gold to make coffee. It's impressive and I think our ancestors would be proud.

I'm not sure what the purpose of this post was. I guess I just thought yall should know. Carry on.
