minimum dose size?

Water filter jugs

Hi! I have a Nespresso Vertuo, and sometimes I use a French press. But now I want to concentrate less on the coffee and more on the water. I want to talk about the jugs themselves. I heard that they tend to use ascorbic acid to neutralize chlorine. Isn't it give a sour taste to the water? I mean it is nice in the wintertime. Or it will go away because vitamin c decomposes at temperatures above 60 °C? I mainly want to buy a water filter because our tap water is FULL of chlorine and makes me see what I had for breakfast. And I don't want to buy bottled water, I drink a LOT. The thing that filtered water makes the best coffee is just secondary, however, if a buy a jug like this, I would like to make coffee with it.

I would like to buy the Aquaphor brand, it is the cheapest where I live (Hungary), and I heard it is the best in America, according to a YouTube channel I trust. I saw they make filters that enrich the water with magnesium. Isn't it make my machine have limescale sooner, or it is a small amount, and what causes limescale to be filtered out? Is magnesium compromises the taste of coffee? I want to use this kind of cartridge because I need supplemental magnesium anyways.
