Watch Daenerys destroy Kings Landing to “For Whom the Bell Tolls”

By Angela Garrity, Guest blogger

WARNING: Spoilers from Game of Thrones Season 8 below!

Game of Thrones fans, are you ready to relive total annihilation? Of course you are.

Danny Peck created an incredible mash-up that features Dany’s raid on King’s Landing all underneath the audio mercilessness of Metallica’s “For Whom the Bell Tolls.” The full video is below.

The video was uploaded on May 14 but already has over 2 million views, and we can totally see why. The video and the metal track sync up quite well as viewers prepare for the complete destruction of the Red Keep. It puts a whole new spin on the verse “Take a look to the sky just before you die. It’s the last time you will.”

Remember back in Season 5 when Daario advised Daenerys to round up all the heads of Meereen and slaughter them without warning? Dany refused, and advised that she is a queen and not a butcher, but Daario countered her statement with his own of “All rulers are either butchers or meat.” Rulers must kill or be killed. That is the ongoing theme we see in the HBO series and definitely one that is carried out by Dany and those who are truly loyal to her with the slaughter of innocents who reside in King’s Landing. Brutal.
