minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Spritzing beans before grinding

Just bought and started using a Baratza Encore grinder. Saw some folks say that they spritzed their beans before grinding to avoid static/chaff. I thought it might cause rust on the burrs so I asked Baratza support if they recommended this practice (or didn't), and I got this response.

"Great question! It is totally okay to give the coffee a small spritz before grinding the coffee. This will help with static! Our burrs are made of a high-carbon steel, and the surface is susceptible to react with any moisture or humidity in the air. However, we rate our burrs to last up to 500lbs which for most folks lasts ten years or more of grinding. Small amounts of surface rust may be present on the burrs but will quickly disappear after just a few pounds of use and is not harmful.
Here are a few extra steps we follow:
1- let the grinder rest 30-60 seconds after the grind is complete to let static dissipate.
2- give the grounds bin a "knock knock" to dislodge clinging coffee particles.
3- consider wetting a butterknife and stirring your dose of whole beans with it while resting in the hopper. Just a little water greatly reduces heavy static."
