I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Pour over pre-heating trick

I've never been able to predict exactly when my water will finish boiling (I use a stovetop kettle), and I've always found it difficult to correctly time the only time-sensitive preparation step — preheating my V60 brewer. I was doing it with fairly hot tap water, but this would cool by the time I was ready to brew.

Then, a magical discovery: I now point my kettle's spout directly at the V60, which I set on top of its carafe, right beside the stove. It stays engulfed in hot steam until I start to pour, keeping it very, very warm.

I don't know if this is a common knowledge thing, but I feel like a genius. Have you done this?
