Overnight brew

Overnight brew

minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Overnight brew

I am struggling to conceptualize a way of waking up to a cup of coffee in my bedroom. I’m a senior and seem to need coffee now just to get out of bed. I don’t have a sink or a place to put a grinder in the bedroom. I have a Rocky Rancilio in my kitchen and use an Aeropress. I used to use a French press until all the publicity about toxins for lack of paper filtration. I’ve thought of making a cup the night before and putting it in an excellent thermos that might keep it hot (not sure such a thing exists, despite claims to the contrary.) But even so, I think the coffee would taste stale. I could keep an electric water kettle in the room and use an Aeropress there but that would require grinding the night before. I have a manual grinder but it’s become too hard for me to crank. I’ve also thought of getting a Nespresso and using pods. Any thoughts on these methods or something I haven’t thought of?
