Oracle Touch Grinder Design Flaw?

I bought the Oracle Touch back in September, and on the first day of ownership, the grinder broke.

I was adjusting the tamp fan, and whatever happened caused it to not detect the grind volume, and ground coffee backed up the chute, burnt out the motor. Called support and the whole machine needed replacing.

Fast forward to Xmas day, wife is making coffee and in the chaos, she accidentally double grinds. This causes the same problem as above, and yep, grinder motor burnt out.

How the hell does this happen on a £2k machine so easily? The first issue where it didn't detect the grinds seems a genuine issue, but double dosing? You can even start a grind without the portafilter in, so it'll know if it's been removed or not.

/Rant – sorry but getting frustrated with what are basic design flaws on such an expensive machine
