"Never mix, never worry" — but I mix (bean batches) anyway

minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

As one bag of beans is getting low, I've started mixing it with the next bag earlier than I usually do (i.e., the last few beans of one and the first of the next). Maybe I never dialed in the old bag the way I wanted, but the new bag is sweeter and the combination is … interesting! (I lean towards the lighter side on preferences.)

So: how many of you mix from different bags of beans (except the transitional cup)? How do you make those decisions? Best home blend you've come upon? Worst?
