More acidic coffees taste bad in my moka pot?

Usually I drink very low acidity, dark roast coffee made in my mokapot which I simply dilute with water or oatmilk and it tastes good to me. Never drank more acidic coffees at home, only house blends in cafes. Well recently I got some new beans as a gift from a friend and it's supposed to taste like pineapple – I've made several cups in the mokapot now and they all taste absolutely atrocious. There's some acidity but they just taste burner and over extracted. I've tried lowering the hob flame to a lower heat than I usually use, I've tried grinding a bit coarser and I've tried microwaving the beans before grinding like in that one James Hoffman video but each cup is undrinkable

What am I doing wrong? Is it just the brew method? I can't afford to buy any new gear, especially not just for this one bag of beans, so should I just give up?
