minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

How do i get more consistent while making my coffee?

Hey, i've bought coffee from a local roastery, Ethiopia a bit darker roast than medium, that should have moderate acidity, which is pretty much my preference. Whenever i prepare it at home with my french press, the acidity is clearly present, but when i use my V60 (i have it at my dorm) the acidity is gone. Am i using wrong ratio? Does the quality of water change that? I use tap water, i can't really afford water filter as a student and using bottled water is a no go for me.

  • I always use freshly grounded coffee
  • I use scale and 1:15 or 1:16 ratio
  • I don't know if that really matters, but i dont use official hario paper filters and the only ones i could find were size 4
  • Both preparations (french press and V60) are identical to James Hoffmans reccomendations.
