I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

General advice for finding correct grind setting when using drip machine?

Hey All,

I'm considering getting an automated brewer and was curious if anyone could give me some advice on finding the correct grind size.

Currently I use a v60 and have a Encore grinder. My process is usually to start on the finer side of medium grind (about an 18 setting on the Encore) and then dial it coarser or finer based on the resulting brew.

I'm assuming the process is the same for an automated drip brewer (looking at the Breville Precision Brewer or the OXO 8 cup) but I don't know where my starting point should be. In general is the grind setting about the same as pour over or should I be starting finer or coarser?
