I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Fellow Pour-Over Brewer Sucks

So I bought the Fellow Pour-over Kit in a fit of excitement after trying great pour over for the first time (it was from a V60 but I didn’t know the difference at the time) and Fellow sent along a pour-over brewer and carafe with a flat bottom and some holes. The shape is very cylindrical and tapers out of the top.

So far my brews have been decent, but nothing to match that V60 pour-over I had or even come close.

My process is below: 1. Fine grind, 22g dose 2. Pour hot water through filter and brewer prior to brewing (get it hot) 3. Allow a 30 second bloom after initial pour 4. Pour in circular motion out and then in and out again till 300g yield

Is the shape of the brewer really making any difference? Is my coffee just crappy? It’s single origin Ethiopian…. So I’m hoping it’s the brewer/funnel.
