Clever Dripper trouble

I just bought a Clever because I wanted an easy way to make 12-16oz cups in the morning without the sludge of a French press. I tried James Hoffman’s recipe, and am whelmed

20g coffee at a medium grind (6 on an Oxo burr grinder), 360g water at 208F. Rinse the filter, pour in water, add coffee, stir a bit. Wait 2 minutes, stir again, then start drawdown after 30 more seconds.

He says adding the coffee second helps prevent a long drawdown, but when I tried it the drawdown was really fast. It sounded like I was pouring out a cup into the sink, and was done in 15-20 seconds. The cup is a little watery. What am I doing wrong?
