minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

My Friedhats beans just "popped"

My new Friedhats beans just opend with an unexpectedly loud "pop". The lid (including the seal) nearly blew out of my hand and there was a significant pressure release, more akin to what you'd expect from a forgotten bottle homeade of ginger beer in the back of your fridge.

I have little experience with Friedhats and their products. The last bottle I bought came with a broken seal already. So is this normal? Do they pressurize their bottles with nitrogen or something? Was this a product of the "Extended Fermentation" these beans have undergone (see back), or have they just gone bad somehow? I am so confused.

The coffee looks, smells and tastes great btw. Pour over definitely has some funk to it, Cognac/Whisky like notes and a bit of fruit and dark chocolate. Solid 5/7. I just hope it was safe to drink 😅
