I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Knock box- knock the handle or the basket?

Perhaps this is a dumb question. Before the ex and I split, we had a knock box where the bar was back far enough that you hit the handle and the puck popped out easy peasy. I've just bought a new setup and picked up a cheap knock box. It's not wide enough to hit the handle, so I hit the basket which splatters coffee-puck-liquid when I knock it. Not ideal. I have an entry level espresso machine, if that's important.

Am I supposed to be banging the basket or the handle? What knock box should I buy?
