I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Pour over is almost the same as a generic coffee maker??

So my French press glass finally decide it wanted to retire after 15 years and I wanted to try the pour over method after seeing so many people promote it here.

After some trial and error I got the technique down but I'm always let down by the strength and flavor of the coffee when using pour over method. I always grind right before I make my coffee and I've even tried different levels of "courseness". Does anyone here actually feel that pour over has a richer flavor than French press???

I am legitimately curious as I cannot reach the level of flavor even with the same beans when using pour over. In fact I'd say it's not that much better than a regular American style coffee maker with a filter…
