I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Why does my drip coffee taste burnt

Due to lack of apartment space, we tend to keep a 4 to 5 cup coffee maker in the house. However, we have noticed that after about a month or so every time the coffee starts to taste burnt. we have tried different methods. We have tried using vinegar to wash out the coffee maker. We have tried changing brands of the coffee maker. And so on. We use Lavazza high-quality coffee. We try to measure it literally to the correct tablespoon amount. Yet, after a month or so, we feel like every coffee maker that we buy ends up, making the coffee taste burnt. The only commonality between all these coffee makers is that we buy a 4 to 5 cup one. What are we doing wrong? Should we just buy a big one even though it takes up a lot of space? It’s really not about the expense as it is more about space in our apartment.
