I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

What kind of reusable metal filter to get?

I’m thinking of keeping a reusable filter around for the day I forget to restock paper filters or just want to try something different. It looks like there are two types: the all-metal kind with holes, and the mesh kind with a plastic frame.

The all-metal kind seems to be less fine and might let more sediment through, but I’m concerned about the durability of the mesh kind, since I’d be running hot water on plastic.

Does anyone here have experience using both and have recommendations? I’d be especially happy to find a particularly fine all-metal one or be told that my concerns regarding the mesh kind are unfounded.
