Specialty Shops in NYC

Hey folks, hope everyone had a good holiday and is well caffeinated!

Background: I have a full time job in tech but worked as a barista on weekends for about 7 months last year in San Francisco. Now that I’m more settled in Manhattan, I’m hoping to find a weekend barista gig again. My dream is to one day open my own shop, but for now I’d like to better myself in coffee and as a barista.

I’d like to avoid big chains and find specialty shops. I really love latte art as well, so it’s a big plus if the shop cares for it.

Ask: Could folks recommend some shops for me to check out that might be open for part timers? TIA!
