SCA Courses for Non-Professionals: Worth It?

Disclaimer that I am not a coffee professional. I am a home brewer primarily brewing pour over and Aeropress coffee.

My local shop teaches SCA courses at the Foundation (Beginner), Intermediate, and Professional levels. I'm always wanting to expand my skills and understanding when it comes to coffee, and as a result, I'm curious about the SCA Brewing Intermediate curriculum (as I think the Foundation level may be a little too introductory), and the SCA Sensory Skills courses.

My question is: is it worth it, especially if I'm just a humble home brewer? Have any of y'all done it? Do you feel it was worth the time and money? What were some of the most valuable things you learned in doing the courses? Would that money be better spent just buying more coffee and developing more skills via YouTube and other channels at home?
