Pour over brewing help for a beginner

Hey guys I'm pretty new to actually making my own coffee and stuff, been using the hario v60 and the timemore c2 for about a month or two now, and it's better than before I started grinding my own coffee of course but it still isn't "good" and I'm having trouble fixing that.

I've watched a few videos like James Hoffman's v60 method and such but maybe I'm doing it wrong? any common things a beginner should look out for or anything that can easily make it better? grind size, pour speed/strength? or if there's any comprehensive guides of any kind I'd appreciate any kind of help or tips

Edit: Thanks for all the very helpful replies folks, I've got a much bttter idea of what to try now
