Need help with 1zpresso J-Max grind setting for Vietnamese phin coffee?

I recently got the grinder and having trouble finding a good grind setting for phin coffee. I have been drinking pre-ground coffee and I love how it tastes but when I tried freshly ground from the grinder, it didn't taste good compared to pre-ground. I would like to try different settings but I need advice before I waste a bunch of coffee.
