minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

I’ve been using my Virtuoso+ wrong for an entire year

I got a nice bonus from work at the end of 2021, and I splurged a little bit to get a Baratza Virtuoso+ to replace my Hario Skerton. I honestly didn't notice much of a difference.

I caught COVID, and I got turned off of coffee for a while (my sense of taste wasn't affected, coffee just didn't sound good anymore). This morning, I was finally craving coffee again, so I made coffee.

I had been out of making coffee long enough that I forgot the numbers for everything. During my refresher, I happened to glance at the Virtuoso+ manual. It states that the 0 setting is fine, and the 40 setting is coarse.

I had spent the last year doing everything backward. I initially thought that 40 was fine and 0 was coarse. I never followed the exact setting for any recommendations here, I just always tried to dial in things myself, keeping in mind if the grind for a specific method should lean coarse or fine. The last year of my coffee life has been a lie.

My coffee this morning was fantastic, by the way.
