Hand grinder unused for months–do I need to do anything other than run some beans through it?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Hand grinder unused for months–do I need to do anything other than run some beans through it?

I took a break from coffee–at least at home–for a solid six months or so, and am back on the wagon. Or off it, but /r/coffee would probably say "on".

There's of course some rancid oil in there, but it doesn't smell particularly bad or anything. Should I even bother with cleaning products like Grindz, or is it going to be okay after running a few bags through it?
