Drip Coffee – Does the machine matter?

Hello, Everyone!

I am in a bit of a predicament and would like some guidance. For context – I am still an amateur coffee guy. I have begun to dabble in the coffee world and am slowly building my knowledge. A few years back, I began to explore quality coffee and get away from the mainstream brands. I then ditched my percolator for an entry-level espresso machine, grinder, and a French press. What I use each day is dependent on how I am feeling and the mood I am in. Recently, I haven't cared for the amount of cleanup required from my espresso or French press setup. I am looking for something for my lazy days where clean up is easy and coffee is relatively effortless.

Naturally, this brings me back to a percolator; however, I have upgraded my coffee and grinder to a Breville Smart Grinder Pro. My understanding is that temperature and extraction matter for a good cup of coffee, and a cheap percolator does not deliver on this. Is this true? If so, are there percolators that can deliver a quality cup? I don't want to undo the work of quality coffee and a quality grinder with a poor extraction and a bland cup of joe from the percolator.

I am also considering a pour-over setup, but I think that even with a pour-over setup, I will find it requires more energy than I wish to give it, even though the clean-up becomes easier.

Thank you in advance for your input!
