I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Do all decaf beans grind with a ton of fines?

I’ve had months of trouble grinding decaf beans for my v60 and kalita wave brewing. I have baratza virtuoso with new burrs that was recently serviced by baratza. Regular beans grind well. But every brand of decaf I’ve tried to grind creates too many fines and clogs my filters in the second half of my brew. Grinder much coarser helps, but decreases my coffee quality.

Freezing beans hasn’t helped. Sifting outbfines helps my brewing.

Do all decaf beans produce too many fines? Is there anything else I can do to brew a better cup of decaf?
