minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Did I waste money on Jamaica Blue Mountain? Any recommendations for brewing it?

My daughter recently started drinking coffee, so after a quick dive into the internet to research an inexpensive intro into the coffee world, I bought her a small drip coffee maker (nothing special; its main appeal is that it's teal, her favorite color), a burr grinder, and six half-pound bags of various coffee beans (mostly chosen by whim and hunch, such as interestingly named Ethiopian coffees).

As a side note, I've always loved the smell of coffee, but I've never liked the taste. Until now. I've suddenly discovered I like coffee, especially the Ethiopian ones.

Anyway, here's my question: As a Christmas gift for my daughter, I ordered a half pound of certified Jamaica Blue Mountain coffee (plus some organic Ethiopian Yirgacheffe from the same site).

The Jamaica Blue Mountain was on sale and comes in a cute wooden barrel, so I'm sure it wasn't a complete waste of money; if nothing else we get a tiny, super expensive barrel.

But can someone please reassure me by telling me whether it'll be as good as it's said to be? Do we need to know anything special about grinding and brewing it?
