Make Dalgona coffee at home with Death Wish instant coffee

By Angela Garrity, Guest blogger

It’s known by many names, but this coffee concoction has stirred up the internet into trying something new, for most, with their coffee. What else were we supposed to do while staying at home?

South Koreans are credited as creating the coffee drink they know as “Dalgona coffee” because of how much it tastes like the retro toffee-like candy Dalgona, according to the Los Angeles Times. In other places like India, Pakistan, and Macao, the beverage is called “beaten coffee” or, like on TikTok, “whipped coffee” reports Today.

Regardless of what you decide to call it, this whipped coffee is quick, easy and delicious with only a handful of ingredients needed to try your hand at making it in the kitchen. Of course, we put our own Death Wish Coffee spin on it, and we’re calling it Death Whipped Coffee.

Death Whipped Coffee

Ingredients (for one serving):

Directions:

  1. Mix instant coffee, sugar, and hot water into a small mixing bowl.
  2. Beat mixture for 3 to 5 minutes, until the color changes to golden brown and consistency becomes thick
  3. Pour the milk into a glass with a few ice cubes and top with coffee mixture — it’ll look like an inverted cappuccino.

Enjoy! Oh, and make sure to take a picture and tag us on social — @deathwishcoffee. We want to see your caffeinated creations!
