Chemex white vs natural filters

Coffee has been tasting a bit off lately. I thought it had something to do with my technique. I'm still learning how to use the Chemex. It didn't occur to me that the paper filter might have something to do with it. Found a site where testing was done between the two. White filters are better.

  2. Is the sock filter any good?
  3. Is the metal filter any good?
