I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

Any suggestions for food safe weights to help compact grounds for cold brewing?

Hi guys,

So: I know that French presses are commonly used for cold brew (which would be one solution to this) but I recently picked up a nice cold brew maker with the classic insert for the coffee grounds that I really love.

The problem I've noticed is that some of the coffee grounds that are steeping end up rising to the top and (I guess because cold brew uses a lot of grounds and the holding area isn't so big) end up kind of floating above the water level.

It struck me that one solution to this would be to add some weight to the top of the coffee chamber to literally "sink" the grounds to the bottom of the device, thereby preventing some from rising to the top and not infusing.

Is there anything that might be suitable for this purpose?
