Which to buy first?

Hi there, mostly a lurker until now. I'm trying to incentivize myself towards some goals and decided that rewarding myself with a better coffee set up upon reaching those goals would be great.

I plan to get myself one nice thing when I reach my intermediate goal and a second nice thing at the final goal.

The two nice things I am considering getting for myself are a proper burr grinder and a 9Barista, or perhaps, to save a few hundred, the d'longhi espresso machine everyone seems to rec as the budget option. (Also interested in ppl's thoughts between these two brewing options.)

I love espresso but it seems like there would be something to be said for buying the grinder first since espresso requires such a fine grind. On the other hand, grocery stores have grinders and I already have one of the blender style ones. I currently drink moka pot coffee on the daily, or I have a cheap pour over I never really use.
