What’s going on with baratza?

Just got a new sette 270 last week. It was defect fresh out of the box. I look online and find that the sette series seems to have quite a lot of QA issues.

No big deal. I'll contact the company. So I opened a ticked via the email system because I'm Canadian and can't call their US number. They have a reputation for being very quick to solve problems.

Nothing from them, and that's days after opening the ticket. Only thing I have is the automated email with the ticket number.

If I look at feedbacks, people have had baratza quickly contact them upon opening a ticket, which for me didn't happen. It's been days and I currently have a $500+ grinder that can't be used.

Breville purchased baratza. Is it just me or ever since they have been owned by Breville things have gone downhill? I have a 5 year old encore. Still working great. And now I invested in a much more expensive grinder and it's defect. Not only that, it seems to be common for the sette series to have problems as well…

I'm obviously frustrated as a customer and I'm considering avoiding the brand now. Anything I could do at all? I paid good money for a sette 270, I feel like I shouldn't be left in the dark like this.
