I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

What happened to dark roasts?

I swear to god, fancy coffee shops used to at least have a darker roast in one of their drip coffee carafes, right? Why is it so hard to find a French roast anywhere besides the supermarket or Starbucks these days? If I wanted my coffee to have fruity notes I’d have a goddamn tea. I want coffee to be smoky and rich, not watery and fruity. When did this trend start? How long will it last? Do I need to just insist to meet people at Starbucks rather than their preferred specialty roaster?
