1 vs 2 Grinder setup

minimum dose size?

I use the Hario switch to brew my coffee and am trying to reduce my caffeine consumption. Hence I would like to brew smaller cups of coffee. I am currently using 10g of coffee with 160g of water. (1:16 Ratio) I am wondering if there is a minimum amount of coffee...

1 vs 2 Grinder setup

Hello all,

I’m need a new grinder because my off brand cheap electric grinder I use for my coffee machine broke and I’m in need of a major upgrade. I’m trying to take my coffee game to the next level generally, and am getting a Gaggia classic pro to try to venture into the art of espresso. As much as I’d like to hope I’ll be pulling shots every day, realistically I’ll probably still be using my OXO coffee maker some days before work, and then trying espresso on days I have time or off days.

I have around $5-600 to spend on grinding. If I can get away with only getting 1 grinder that’s real good for espresso and functions ok (better than my previous $60 grinder) for drip coffee, that’d be preferably but if it’d be better to split my money on say a $3-400 dedicated espresso grinder and $2-300 for filter coffee, maybe I’d do that.

I’d love to just go all in on the Niche zero because obviously it’s good for espresso and I figure it can probably still beat my old grinder at drip coffee but I don’t know. I’d appreciate your opinions, expertise, and experience. I’ve also been looking at the baratza sette, and the eureka mignon, baratza encore, and breville smart grinder.

Thanks in advance guys and gals! I appreciate it.
